Memorial Day Reflection

As Memorial Day approaches I hope many Americans will reflect on the meaning of the holiday. "The Last full measure of devotion" so eloquently framed by Abraham Lincoln speaks volumes about duty, honor and sacrifice.  Many have perished in defense of the United States; they didn't give their lives for the Republic, freedom or liberty but for those on their left and on their right. The Bible says, "greater love have no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends." (Jo 15:13 NASB)

However, it is fitting to ponder, why they did give their lives.  I doubt they gave their lives so that liberties in America would slowly erode until all Americans were suspected terrorists until proven otherwise. I doubt they gave their lives so that international and sharia law would be heard and considered in American courts. I doubt they gave their lives so Washington D.C. could recklessly spend money until the National Debt became the number one National Security issue.

Socialism and the Bible

“Wealth obtained by fraud dwindles, but the one who gathers by labor increases it.” (Pr 13:11)
Trying to coorelate socialism and Christianity is ridiculous for anyone remotely familiar with Biblical text. Many socialists, when it suits their needs, use the principles and tenets of Christianity to further their agenda towards state socialism. Welfare, entitlement programs, food stamps and the like are frequently “justified” and “rationalized” through faulty interpretation of Biblical teachings. It leads to ignorant statements like "they need to pay their fair share." When it comes to other issues such as gay marriage or abortion these same people will dismiss the Bible out of hand and declare it old-fashioned, irrelevant and false. We need to be reminded that, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Heb 13:8) The nature and character of God does not change. Therefore, His teachings and commands on self-government, family, the church and civil government do not change and are just as imperative and relevant today as they were during the time of Adam. The clear conclusion from reading Genesis to Revelation is that socialism is incompatible with Christianity.  Furthermore, it is not just incompatible it is destructive and its grip on the United States constitutes a clear and present danger.
Socialism, in this article, is viewed in the context of state ownership of the means of production, diminished property rights, and wealth redistribution. Socialism is a troubling system of state control, theft and godlessness. Consider the following definitions of socialism from Meriam-Websters:
1: any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods

2 a :a system of society or group living in which there is no private property b : a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state

3: a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done

4: an economic system with limited socialist characteristics that is effected by gradual state action and typically includes public ownership of major industries and remedial measures to benefit the working class
MSNBC commentator Lawrence O’donnell recently invoked scripture to promote state socialism.  It was laughable because he completely used scripture out of context and made a mockery of Biblical teaching. He claimed, upon answering the question, “How much would Jesus take” that Jesus would take 100% of income. He justified this bizarre statement from grossly misinterpreting Mark Chapter 10. The rich young ruler was cut to the bone by Jesus because of the rich man’s love of money. Sadly, the ruler refused to listen to Jesus. Notice, however, that Jesus didn’t take ANYTHING. The rich young ruler went about his business and did not follow Jesus and kept his riches. Lawrence O-donnell somehow twists that story into a ridiculous argument that Jesus would take everything and redistribute it to meet the need for the greater good. The fundamental flaw in his argument is the removing of the individual from giving. Giving is a vital aspect of Christianity that helps sanctify a believer.
It is very clear from scripture that at no time is the state expected to confiscate wealth to redistribute to the needy. Jesus placed that burden on believers to do so freely with a glad heart. The Bible says, “Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Cor 9:7) This clearly teaches that the individual must decide for himself, voluntarily, whether or not to give, how much and to whom. Clearly, it is what Christians should do but never under duress. The state, not even the church, should compel people to give money to be redistributed to others as entitlements. This is called theft by any other standard.
Is America a socialist nation? Surely not, we were founded on the Protestant work ethic of rugged individualistm in the land of opportunity, right? Let's take a look.
Compulsory education as a government run institution is socialist by design. Consider the individual person who never had kids or perhaps has one child yet still pays property taxes among other taxes to fund government schools. Even more egregious, consider the family that pays for their own childs education via homeschool or private school yet still pays taxes for public education. The public school’s means of production is government controlled, wealth is redistributed through taxes, mainly encroachment on property rights to pay for it…I would call that textbook socialism.

According to the Heritage foundation, entitlement programs make up almost 60% of the federal budget. Benefits from these programs are paid for disproportionally from the wealthy and received disproportionally by the poor. This is theft and clearly socialism.

Not only is entitlement programs theft, it is incredibly irresponsible. A cursory glance at the above chart demonstrates how ludicrous and precarious the financial situation is in the United States due to reckless spending on entitlements. The only constitutionally mandated item to fund is defense and we could stand to trim in that area as well. Most, would scream to drastically reduce the military funding. Sadly, they don't understand that we would still be defecit spending even if we eliminated the military all together, which is absurd. The state has largely taken over the responsibility of self-government, family and the church. Civil government competes for votes and politicians have figured out the more they give (confiscate from one group to give to another usually bigger group) the more people vote for them.
The progressive income tax is clearly a form of socialism. Yes, the elites ensure that they have special provisions and deals but freely promote higher taxation among those “below” them as long as it does not pertain to them. Warren Buffett and Bill Gates frequently talk about the need for higher taxes for the rich but fail to mention all of the loopholes that they enjoy. My suggestion to them would be to give away the amount of money they feel compelled to give. They could give away 90% of everything they make and still be millionaires year over year, yet do they? Instead of talking about it, they could set the example for everyone else to follow. They create foundations (tax havens) to give money away (tax-advantaged of course) yet each one of them are personally worth billions.
Is America socialist? Clearly yes, the United (socialist) States of America fits the definition of state socialism very nicely. The exception, of course, is the elites.
Christianity clearly teaches to take care of the poor, orphans and widows. The Bible teaches, “The rich and the poor have a common bond, the Lord is the maker of them all.” (Pr 22:2) It also says, “To the weary you have given no water to drink, And from the hungry you have withheld bread.” (Job 22:7) And, “You have sent widows away empty, And the strength of the orphans has been crushed.” (Job 22:9)
How does the apparent contradiction between the command of helping those in need and speaking against entitlements that clearly help the poor reconciled? Very easily! Christianity speaks nothing of state control over wealth distribution.

It is the obligation of the individual believer, families and the church to help those in need. However, it is helpful to define “those in need.” The Bible has something to say about this as well. Proverbs 20:13 states, “Do not love sleep, or you will become poor; Open your eyes, and you will be satisfied with food,”  “The sluggard does not plow after the autumn, So he begs during the harvest and has nothing.” (Pr 20:4) In the context of the Bible the poor were those that worked but had nothing. We are called to help these people. We were not called to support people so they could sit at home, watch cable TV, text their friends and generally do nothing. “The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, but the soul of the diligent is made fat.” (Pr 13:4)  The “poor” in America are wealthy by most of the worlds standards. It is unjust and unbiblical to support people who do not work, "For even when we were with you, we used to give you this order: if anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either. For we hear that some among you are leading an undisciplined life, doing no work at all, but acting like busybodies." (2 Th 3:10-11) .  Christians engage in giving as an act of worship. We should give to those in need not to those who are lazy and looking for a handout or a free ride. It is actually counterproductive to support people in their pursuit of laziness.

Those that work and are poor we must help support them. Families and churches should sacrificially help those who are in need. Additionally, we are called to care for orphans and widows. This is not a job for the state and literally robs people of the blessing of giving and helping others.

Instead, the state imposes taxes through coercion to implement programs to help people in a completely inefficient and impersonal way. Not paying income taxes is the only debt that an individual can go to prison for in America. As socialism has slowly been implemented in the U.S. the fruit is beginning to ripen in the form of deficit spending, massive national debt and high unemployment.
What then shall we do?
It would be great if the U.S. would abolish entitlement programs and return the duty of helping the poor, orphans and widows to its rightful place: individuals, families, churches and communities. However, that is not politically viable and will not happen unless the U.S. literally collapses and is rebuilt on sound ideological, political and financial principles (Biblical).
Christians should fight for a religious exemption to entitlement programs. We would not pay anything into the system and would obviously not receive any benefits either. Instead, individuals, families and churches would set up their own local systems to take care of each other. The Amish are a great example. They are exempt from programs like social security, in most cases, and take care of their own. Because of the letter of the law, no other Christian churches are able to participate as it is now written. This must change. By expanding the model of the Amish to many Christians churches and other groups for that matter it would set an example for the country to emulate. When the current system collapses, Christians must be ready to help each other and others.

We must educate Christians and others who will listen to the pitfalls of socialism and a return to Biblical principles of caring for one another. Engage the culture on a local level. Any changes to the current system will have to come from the bottom up and not the top down.

The Founding Father's Vision is Toast!

Secular humanism is the pervading ideology in America and it is reflected in the culture, bleeding into every aspect of life. This was not always the case. The founding fathers envisioned an entirely different ethos for America. Whether anyone wants to admit or not, the U.S. was founded on Judeo-Christian principles and values. This unique character was, without question, the pervading thinking among the founders regardless of their personal belief system and regardless of revisionist history prevalent in American public education today. A simple look at original documents paint a clear picture of what was intended. Consider the following statements from some of the founders:

Christians and Money: Confessions from an FPU Graduate

"For the love of money is a root of all sorts of eveil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs." (I Ti 6:10)

Dave Ramsey famously says, "normal is broke." I don't want to be normal. More importantly, I don't want to be a lover of money. The most important take-away from Financial Peace University (FPU), which I highly recommend, is changing the way I think. The apostle Paul writes, "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect." (Ro 12:2)

Christians should handle money differently than the world. Doctrines of behavior are profitable for man, more importantly, they are a testimony to the Lord. I would argue that the Christian who is "normal," in other words, highly indebted, consumed with materialism and generally broke is not a very good witness for Christ.

Do you want a free masters degree in biblical finance? Read, study, ponder, meditate and apply the following principles from the book of Proverbs:

The righteous has enough to satisfy his appetite, but the stomach of the wicked is in need. (13:25)

The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower becomes the lender's slave. (22:7)

It is the blessing of the LORD that makes rich, and He adds no sorrow to it. (10:22)

Honor the LORD from your wealth and from the first of all your produce so your barns will be filled with plenty and your vats will overflow with new wine. (3:9-10)

He who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like the green leaf. (11:28)
Christians are stewards (managers) of God's resources. This is a significant difference in how the world views treasure and the most challenging aspect that I wrestled with during FPU. We should be content, live below our means, eschew debt and certainly not fall prey to consumerism and materialism.

Renew the mind and live free.

A Reflection of Maafa 21: A Documentary of the Modern Eugenics Movement in America

I watched Maafa 21 last night which is an expose of Planned Parenthood and the modern eugenics movement. It was a thought-provoking indictment which highlighted the new strategy of population control.

Planned Parenthood is exactly as it sounds...they want to plan the size of your family; they are the population control police. Is it coincidence that abortion clinics are in disproportionately minority neighborhoods?  Wake up America, eugenics and its philosophy are alive and well and target segments of society that they deem non-productive. Instead of overtly targeting "feeble-minded" blacks like they did in the early 20th century with sterilization and coercion, they now covertly target the same population through persuasion, birth control and abortion. The tactic may have changed, but the end remains the same. Planned Parenthood is a willing participant of their evil deeds. They wrap abortion in cancer screenings, pregnancy testing and "women's health" to hide their true agenda: population control. Planned Parenthood, originally the Birth Control League, has been married to the eugenics movement in purpose and design from the beginning.

Eugenics–noun
the study of or belief in the possibility of improving the qualities of the human species or a human population, especially by such means as discouraging reproduction by persons having genetic defects or presumed to have inheritable undesirable traits (negative eugenics) or encouraging reproduction by persons presumed to have inheritable desirable traits (positive eugenics). (http://www.dictionary.reference.com/)

The eugenics movement and the Birth Control League wanted to eradicate blacks and other "undesireables." When positive eugenics failed (the encouragement of whites to outbreed blacks) they turned to negative eugenics in the form of sterilization and later the most effective method: abortion. Although this is not talked about, or simply dismissed as another conspiracy theory, it is happening in America today.
Don't believe me? Here are some words from the founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger, and other population control specialists that you won't hear about in public schools.
"The most merciful thing that a family does to one of its infant members is to kill it."
Margaret Sanger (editor). The Woman Rebel, Volume I, Number 1. Reprinted in Woman and the New Race. New York: Brentanos Publishers, 1922.

"Birth control must lead ultimately to a cleaner race."Margaret Sanger. Woman, Morality, and Birth Control. New York: New York Publishing Company, 1922. Page 12.
"We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don't want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population. and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members."
Margaret Sanger's December 19, 1939 letter to Dr. Clarence Gamble, 255 Adams Street, Milton, Massachusetts. Original source: Sophia Smith Collection, Smith College, North Hampton, Massachusetts. Also described in Linda Gordon's Woman's Body, Woman's Right: A Social History of Birth Control in America. New York: Grossman Publishers, 1976.

Charles Darwin:

"The more civilized so-called Caucasian races have beaten the Turkish hollow in the struggle for existence. Looking to the world at no very distant date, what an endless number of the lower races will have been eliminated by the higher civilized races throughout the world." - Charles Darwin, Life and Letters, p. 318.
"At some future period, not very distant as measured by centuries, the civilized races of man will almost certainly exterminate, and replace, the savage races throughout the world." - Darwin, Descent, vol. I, 201.
How about the "father of American eugenics" Charles Benedict Davenport:

He was directly involved in the sterilization off around 60,000, the vast majority were black, unfit Americans. - Edwin Black, War Against the Weak: Eugenics and America's Campaign to Create a Master Race, p 293
When Nazi administrators went on trial for crimes, they cited American eugenics as their inspiration for racial purity. Hitler praised the American Immigration Restriction Act of 1924, and was a big fan of the American eugenics movement that contributed to the holocaust. The link between Nazism, eugenics and even Planned Parenthood is clear if anyone is willing to look at the facts.
"Those who are physically and mentally unhealthy and unworthy must not perpetuate their suffering in the body of their children." - Hitler, Mein Khampf
"Man is becoming god. Those who see in national socialism nothing more than a political movement know scarcely anything of it. It is more even than a religion. It is the will to create mankind anew." - Hitler

The theory of evolution is the foundation for the modern eugenics movement. Charles Darwin's famous work, "The Origin of the Species" oh, and by the way, the subtitle of the book, since removed in all modern publications was, "Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life" an attempt to remove God from humanity. Charles Darwin was the ultimate racist. He believed that blacks and Australians (aborigines) were lower forms of life. Therefore, to direct evolution, he wanted to eradicate those "species." Besides the small problems of: spontaneous generation, the laws of thermodynamics, no current "kinds" of species in transition, or observable evidence it's a great theory. Not! To the evolutionist, everything can be explained through scientism; hence, man becomes god.
To the believer evolution, and its racist philosophy, is morally repugnant. All human life is bestowed by God, He is the Creator of all living things; He knew each human before the foundation of the world. How can we "choose" to kill that child? Who are we to play God? We were made in his image.
Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." (Gen 1:26, NASB)

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you..." (Jer 1:5, NASB)

Shows the original subtitle: "Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life"
No present day publications include the subtitle of the book

Is mass genocide of blacks and poor whites happening in America under the guise of "reproductive rights" and "freedom?"  Surely, this is just another conspiracy theory, right? It is happening in America and it is happening today.

Jesse Jackson 1971
Birth Control as a National policy will simply marshal sophisticated methods to remove ( and control when not remove) the weak, the poor – quite likely the black and other minorities whose relative increase in population threatens the white caste in this nation. Contraceptives, will become a form of drug warfare against the helpless in this nation. Those who we could not get rid of in the rice paddies of Viet-Nam we now propose to exterminate, if necessary, eliminate if possible, in the OB wards and gynecology clinics of our urban hospitals."
Jesse Jackson was decidely pro-life in the 70s and early 80s. He even referred to targetted abortion of blacks as genocide on several occasions. However, when he ran for president in 1984 he promptly flipped on the pro-life movement and he has not looked back since. He is now decidedly pro-choice, effectively aiding in the disproportionate killing of black babies.
"I choose to put my emphasis on sex education and self discipline before the fact. I would never encourage abortion, except under medically extenuating circumstances. On the other hand I do support freedom of choice…" - 1984
How about Al Sharpton and the NAACP?

According to the Rev Clenard Childress, “The truth is, Al Sharpton wouldn’t dare raise his voice due to his own proclivity to support the abortion ideology. … Rev. Sharpton … has been absolutely and utterly silent on the racism of Planned Parenthood and the execution of over 15 million African-American children under the watch of those who took a vow to preserve their lives.
Has anyone noted the silence of the NAACP on the racism of Planned Parenthood? …The NAACP, once the vanguard and protector of the Black Community, has become the personification of liberal thinking and has also refused to condemn the racism at Planned Parenthood. - http://www.blackgenocide.org/
Ok, surely this is still not the case. This can't possibly be happening now.

An anti-abortion group at UCLA went undercover to find out. Here is an excerpt of one of many similair exchanges in seven different states between a donor and Planned Parenthood employees:

Donor: "I really face trouble with affirmative action. I don't want my kids to be disadvantaged ..."
Planned Parenthood representative: "Yeah."
Donor: "... against blacks in college. The less black kids out there the better."
Planned Parenthood representative: "Yeah, yeah, it's a strange time to be sure." -

Planned Parenthood denies targeting minorities. Black babies represent 17% of all live births and account for 36% of all abortions. Additionally, the vast majority of abortion clinics are set up in minority neighborhoods.

The following controversial billboard was put up and promptly taken down because of its degradation towards blacks. Was it anti-black? I don't think so, it is proclaiming truth and raising awareness of the problem.

Planned Parenthood made over $1 Billion in profit in 2010. Yet, they receive aproximately $350 Million in taxpayer money, $10 Million of which is funnelled right back to Pro-Choice (abortionist) politicians. Should Planned Parenthood receive taxpayer money? Absolutely not! This video is a compelling indictment of the abortion industry and their targetting of African Americans. Abortion is an abomination and a national shame. Should taxpayers who have a moral issue with abortion be forced to pay Planned Parenthood with their tax dollars? Obviously not, yet, we are compelled to comply.

This video goes into great detail of the history of eugenics, population control, Planned Parenthood and the puppet masters who make it all work. Anyone concerned with the pro-life movement would benefit from watching this documentary.

The moral of this video (the full video link below) is to vote unequivocaly for pro-life candidates.

The Moral Foundation is Crumbling while Christians watch American Idol

The U.S. is fighting Islamo Fascism around the globe. We are conducting counterinsurgency, counterterrorism, foreign internal defense, unconventional warfare and stabilization operations in many lands. We apply a "whole of government" approach that involves many agencies across the spectrum from the Department of Defense (DOD) to the State Department to the Institute for Peace. Our country exhausts massive amounts of blood and treasure across the world to further country goals. Our strategy is predicated on winning the ideological war. We think if we spread freedom and democracy we will win. Our men and women in uniform fight valiantly as a moral force to guard the global commons, eradicate terrorism and ensure the peace. Yet, while we attempt to "be all things to all people," Our moral foundation at home is crumbling.

Secular humanism is so prevalent in America that even the most ardent federalist of our founding, would roll over in his grave. The only absolute that the humanists subscribe to is that there are no absolutes, which of course is absurd on its surface!

The founding fathers, while wholly imperfect, knew that a solid moral and religious foundation was required for good governance. We have, unfortunately, completely lost that footing.

Christianity is under full fledged spiritual attack and most Christians are too busy watching American Idol to pay attention. We are more worried about the building fund than the cause for Christ. The emergent Church, and many others, have become indistinguishable from the world. We complain about inconveniences and discomfort while brothers and sisters are literally mocked, beaten, jailed and martyred around the world. The blame for the moral decline of America does not rest with progressives and liberals; it rests squarely and completely with us.

What happened to America? Christians withdrew from the process, lost their zeal, and became like the world.

This blog will attempt to give an account for the spiritual war being waged in order to defend the Christian faith. The hope is to spark discussion and debate, warn, equip, and urge Christians to action and most importantly, "Sanctify Christ as Lord..." (NASB) I Peter 3:15
