The Founding Father's Vision is Toast!

Secular humanism is the pervading ideology in America and it is reflected in the culture, bleeding into every aspect of life. This was not always the case. The founding fathers envisioned an entirely different ethos for America. Whether anyone wants to admit or not, the U.S. was founded on Judeo-Christian principles and values. This unique character was, without question, the pervading thinking among the founders regardless of their personal belief system and regardless of revisionist history prevalent in American public education today. A simple look at original documents paint a clear picture of what was intended. Consider the following statements from some of the founders:

George Washington

"... Reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail to the exclusion of religious principle."
"It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and Bible."

John Adams
“The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence were the general principles of Christianity. I will avow that I then believed, and now believe, that those general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God.”
Samuel Adams
“I . . . [rely] upon the merits of Jesus Christ for a pardon of all my sins.”
“I conceive we cannot better express ourselves than by humbly supplicating the Supreme Ruler of the world . . . that the confusions that are and have been among the nations may be overruled by the promoting and speedily bringing in the holy and happy period when the kingdoms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ may be everywhere established, and the people willingly bow to the scepter of Him who is the Prince of Peace.”
Benjamin Franklin
"This will be the best security for maintaining our liberties. A nation of well-informed men who have been taught to know and prize the rights which God has given them cannot be enslaved.
""...a frequent recurrence to fundamental principles...is absolutely necessary to preserve the blessings of liberty and keep a government free."
“As to Jesus of Nazareth, my opinion of whom you particularly desire, I think the system of morals and His religion as He left them to us, the best the world ever saw or is likely to see.”
"I am for doing good to the poor, but...I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it. I observed...that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer. And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer."
The founding fathers were far from perfect. In fact, they didn't even live up to what was written, "We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal" However, they clearly understood that for this Constitutional  Republic to persevere, a moral and religious foundation was necessary. Even a cursory reading of the founding documents, personal writings, state constitutions and government design proves this assertion. The removal of God from government is a perversion that humanists have worked tirelessly to achieve. It is a shame because the decline of America is directly tied to its moral decay.

It is not suggested that the founders wanted a "state religion." Just the opposite, they cherished freedom of religion and liberty in general. No true Christian would want to compel another to attend church, pray or worship God. However, a moral and religious foundation where God's law is respected provides the framework for a society to prosper.
Inscribed on the Liberty Bell is, "Proclaim liberty throughout the land and to all the inhabitants thereof." Oh yeah, this also is a bible verse from Leviticus, 25:10 actually. As of now, liberties are disappearing at a rapid clip. Every new emergency or crisis causes freedoms to be hampered, all in the name of safety or security. Benjamin Franklin said it best, "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."

The vision of the founding fathers has been erased from the American psyche and replaced with humanism, socialism, materialism and consumerism. Can we recapture that founding vision? Does anyone even want to?

Absolutely! There are millions of Americans clamoring for real change. Change that hearkens back to founding ideals and principles that made this country great. If America is to recapture its heritage much work is to be done. First, every freedom loving American must get involved by concentrating on local politics. Chuck Baldwin, 2008 presidential candidate for the Constitutional Party gives an illuminating interview on the state of the country and the way to recapture its essence.
