The Moral Foundation is Crumbling while Christians watch American Idol

The U.S. is fighting Islamo Fascism around the globe. We are conducting counterinsurgency, counterterrorism, foreign internal defense, unconventional warfare and stabilization operations in many lands. We apply a "whole of government" approach that involves many agencies across the spectrum from the Department of Defense (DOD) to the State Department to the Institute for Peace. Our country exhausts massive amounts of blood and treasure across the world to further country goals. Our strategy is predicated on winning the ideological war. We think if we spread freedom and democracy we will win. Our men and women in uniform fight valiantly as a moral force to guard the global commons, eradicate terrorism and ensure the peace. Yet, while we attempt to "be all things to all people," Our moral foundation at home is crumbling.

Secular humanism is so prevalent in America that even the most ardent federalist of our founding, would roll over in his grave. The only absolute that the humanists subscribe to is that there are no absolutes, which of course is absurd on its surface!

The founding fathers, while wholly imperfect, knew that a solid moral and religious foundation was required for good governance. We have, unfortunately, completely lost that footing.

Christianity is under full fledged spiritual attack and most Christians are too busy watching American Idol to pay attention. We are more worried about the building fund than the cause for Christ. The emergent Church, and many others, have become indistinguishable from the world. We complain about inconveniences and discomfort while brothers and sisters are literally mocked, beaten, jailed and martyred around the world. The blame for the moral decline of America does not rest with progressives and liberals; it rests squarely and completely with us.

What happened to America? Christians withdrew from the process, lost their zeal, and became like the world.

This blog will attempt to give an account for the spiritual war being waged in order to defend the Christian faith. The hope is to spark discussion and debate, warn, equip, and urge Christians to action and most importantly, "Sanctify Christ as Lord..." (NASB) I Peter 3:15

  1. American Christians have become apathetic to anything apart from what is affecting them at this moment. Unfortunately when it finally does effect them it will have gone so far they won't know how to fix it. I pray the Lord opens people's eyes soon!

  2. Amen to that...the question is, how do we wake them?
